You’ve been told you need a root canal, and you’re a bit apprehensive
Why a Root Canal?
You may be suffering from deep tooth decay, or have had several dental procedures performed on the same tooth. Perhaps you’ve suffered some trauma to the tooth; a crack, chip or root fracture. These conditions may cause inflammation of the pulp of the tooth. And, when the pulp of the tooth becomes inflamed or infected, a root canal may be recommended. This inflammation is painful, there is swelling and pressure building inside the tooth with no method of release.
A root canal will remove the diseased tissue, the tooth is disinfected, the area fully cleaned and fillings and sealers are applied. Once the tooth pulp and nerves are removed – the tooth will no longer feel pain.
